Horizon Europe - the current funding programme
of the European Commission

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion (2021 – 2027). It’s designed to tackle, amongst other goals, some large societal challenges, such as climate change, sustainable development, and boosting the EU’s competitiveness and growth. New elements, in comparison to the former Horizon 2020 framework programme, are a focus on promising innovations that may be too risky for private investors, a mandatory open science policy, and more ambitious partnerships with industry.
